Aggies 3-0 in WAC; Defeat Idaho 80-68

It was the Wendell McKines and Hernst Laroche show on Saturday night as the New Mexico State Aggies (13-5, 3-0) defeated the Idaho Vandals (9-9, 0-2), 80-68, before 5,306 fans in the Pan Am Center.
McKines led all scorers with 23 points while grabbing 10 rebounds for his 11th double-double on the season.

Senior point guard Hernst Laroche poured in 20 points and played 38 minutes. Laroche was clutch in several situations on the night and made a circus-style layup with two Idaho Vandal players draped all over him.
Sophomore center, Tshilidzi Nephawe appears to be coming out of his early season shooting slump contributing 10 points. His rebounding and blocked shots stats were a little thin on the night going 1 and 1, respectively.
Aggie freshman guard Daniel Mullings had possibly his worst night on the floor in 34 minutes scoring only 6 points and 3 turnovers. Mullings never could get into the flow of the game.
The night also featured "The Voice of the Aggies", Jack Nixon broadcasting his 1,000 Aggie men's basketball game for NMSU. Nixon was recently honored as the 2011 New Mexico Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscaster and Sportswriter Association.
The Aggies now hit the road and take on the San Jose State Spartans on January, 19th followed by a trip to Hawai'i, January, 21st.
